Arthur's Bedroom Tour

When we moved into our new house back in September last year, before we moved in we had a decorate paint the whole house. We were really indecisive about what colour to go for with Arthur's room and in the end we went with baby blue, however it soon drove us crazy.

It made the room look smaller, it was almost too much blue so it was very overwhelming. So when we were decorating the babies nursery we decided lets repaint Arthur's room, so they're both done at the same time. We now are so happy with it, the colour we choose was Egyptian cotton by deluxe, it's a lovely neutral pale grey and it works beautifully with Arthur's white Mamas and Papas furniture (if you want to know more about the furniture go have a look at Arthur's old room tour in our old house here).

So here is his book shelves, we brought these from ikea and I love the way you can stack books one in front of the other and it means you can actually fit a lot of books on just one shelf.

The Arthur bunting is from a company called Paper and Wool which I found on Notonthehighstreet, I think it's so cute and I love the pom pom detail.

We put up two shelves next to his changing table which are from ikea, we needed someone to put his lamp and baby monitor. I've hung these cute flags again from Paper and Wool which I think are adorable. His lamp was from mother care and I've desperately looked for a similar one, but I can't find one anywhere, because i'd really like one for the new babies room as well. It's porcelain and gives off such a gorgeous warm glow.

Hi wardrobe again is from Mamas and Papas all the think are in the old nursery tour post.

I picked up this cute bunting from Dunelm which I thought would work perfectly with his blind and star theme. I actually ended up chopping the bunting in half so we could have two sets, because the one piece was so long it looked much better in two.

His new light shade which is hard to see in this picture is navy with white starts, we brought it from John Lewis, it's beautiful and really ties the whole room together.

We brought the matching cushion and throw to his lamp shade from John Lewis, they are both in such a beautiful soft knitted cotton they will look even better in his bed when we eventually take the sides down and turn it into a toddler bed (he's no where near ready yet).

The finally his blackout blind is also from John Lewis we brought this and put it up when Arthur's room was still baby blue and it went well, but it's looks even better now and a real statement piece to the room. I get so many compliments on it, and to find a blind that looks gorgeous and functional as a black out blind is a win win in my books.

I am so happy with how is room looks nice, it's neutral with a few hints of colour. He absolutely loves his room so when we made the decision not to move into what is now going to be the babies nursery (Arthur's room is 10 inches longer than the babies and the babies nursery is 10 inches wider than Arthur's. So we thought there was no point moving him), we knew we wanted to update this room and make it the best it can be for him.

I hope you enjoyed this post, next up is the babies nursery, which I can't wait for you to see.
